The alarm rang at 4:30 AM. I was already awake and waiting. I was disappointed to find that the predawn western sky was whisped over with just enough cloud to prevent a clear view of the impending selenelion. The clouds broke just enough a half hour before sunrise (which means I didn’t get to really see the selenelion) for me to get this shot of the eclipsed moon above the California high desert.
