When I observed a partly cloudy sky around 3:30, I guessed that we had the ingredients for a spectacular sunset. I drove out away from town to a bluff where I could watch and shoot. At about ten mintes after sunset, the sky was pretty but did not have the deep reds I had hoped for. I left my prime viewing spot all the while keeping my eye on the sky. Then the colors popped. I had to scramble to find a view that did not include powerlines and other obstacles. I’m happy with the results.
